YANGDA Launches Smart Return Home Funtion
Low battery has been one of the most common safety concerns for drones. To reduce such potential safety incidents, the YANGDA team has developed and launched Smart Return Home (SRTH) for any APM/PX4-powered drones equipped with XTurbo intelligent batteries.
What is SRTH?
Smart Return Home (SRTH) is a function that integrates drone flight data, battery monitoring and advanced algorithms. It accurately tracks battery levels, and automatically triggers 3-phase warnings and return-to-home landing when the preset low-battery limits are reached, preventing sudden or unsafe landings.
How SRTH works?
1. Collect battery consumption data: Starting from the first flight with specific drone model, the battery continuously collects battery consumption data of each operation (takeoff, hovering, landing, etc) and refines its algorithms, forming a reference database for the subsequent battery-level calculations and predictions.
2. Define low-battery limits: To ensure real-time battery monitoring, the SRTH function supports a 3-phase adjustable low battery limits. Based on the preset limits and the collected consumption data, the system automatically evaluates the after-landing remaining battery and triggers the corresponding 3-phase low-battery warnings.

3. The 3-phase low-battery warnings and landing
- Phase 1: The first low-battery warning is triggered and keeps popping out on the LAUNCH GCS interface, reminding the pilot to initiate Return-to-Launch (RTL) mode. If the pilot ignores the warning, the drone will keep flying.
- Phase 2: The second low-battery warning gets triggered and RTL mode will be initiated automatically in 10 seconds.

- Phase 3: If the pilot ignores the phase 2 warning and continues flying, the phase 3 warning will be triggered at some point, and the system will execute the QuadPlane Landing (Qland) command in 10 seconds to protect the drone.

Different from other auto landing functions on the current market, YANGDA SRTH features a 3-phase warning and landing procedure, allowing pilots to monitor battery status more accurately and initiate safe return actions in time.
The SRTH function is currently compatible with all APM/PX4-powered drones equipped with XTurbo intelligent batteries.
