What We Solve

In mining inspection, surveying, and safety management operations, traditional mining inspection methods often struggle to balance efficiency, accuracy, and safety, bringing the following key challenges:

Threats to Personnel Safety
In traditional mining inspections, personnel are often required to enter hazardous areas, such as post-blasting zones, to conduct real-time inspections. In these environments, safety threats including secondary explosions and rockfalls can occur without warning. Exposure to such hazards may result in serious injury, loss of life, and other irreversible consequences.
Unidentified Fire Sources
Without precise and advanced thermal detection systems, traditional inspection methods often fail to identify early-stage fire sources caused by coal oxidation, fuel spills, equipment overheating, or electrical faults in a timely manner. As a result, fire hazards may escalate into unexpected emergencies, leaving limited time for effective response, risk mitigation, and personnel evacuation.
Lagging Production Schedule
Traditional surveying methods, such as total station and GNSS/RTK surveying, typically require extensive planning, significant manpower, and lengthy data processing. As a result, they often fail to generate up-to-date models that accurately reflect actual site conditions, leading to lagging production schedules and operational downtime.
Untimely Detection of Slope Deformation
Untimely Detection of Slope Deformation
Traditional manual inspections rely mainly on visual observation, making it difficult to continuously and quantitatively track changes in the high, steep, and extensive slopes of open-pit mines, which can lead to delayed landslide risk warnings. By using UAV-based periodic aerial surveying and 3D modeling, slopes can be analyzed through multi-temporal comparisons, enabling the identification of deformation trends and improving both observation efficiency and early warning capabilities.
Inefficient Volume Calculation
Inefficient Volume Calculation
During mining operations, frequent calculations are required for pit excavation volumes, overburden stripping, and stockpile quantities. Traditional methods typically rely on total stations or GPS point-based surveying, which are not only inefficient and limited in coverage but also prone to reducing accuracy in large-scale operational areas.
UAV systems can rapidly acquire high-density terrain data, significantly improving the efficiency and reliability of volume calculations and providing solid support for production planning, settlement management, and operational analysis.
Experience-Driven Management
Traditional inspections mainly rely on manual methods and basic equipment to collect and record data from mining inspections, surveying, and safety checks, resulting in fragmented data that is difficult to manage systematically. This not only hinders the establishment of traceable historical records, but also increases the difficulty of slope trend analysis, pit change comparison, and closed-loop hazard management.
UAV systems, integrated with data processing and management platforms, enable centralized data management, historical comparison analysis, and closed-loop workflows, helping mining enterprises enhance their overall digital management capabilities.

Long-Endurance, Wide-Area Coverage

Built on the Sky Whale series VTOL drones, YANGDA provides UAV system with up to 10 hours of flight endurance carrying payloads onboard, making it well suited for large-scale inspection and surveying in mining areas. Compared with manual foot patrols, it significantly improves coverage efficiency; compared with conventional multirotor platforms, it reduces the frequency of takeoffs, landings, and battery swaps, making them better suited for mining applications involving large coverage, high intensity, and frequent operations.

Thermal Imaging Fire Source Detection

For open-pit coal mines, waste rock piles, and other scenarios with thermal anomaly risks, YANGDA UAVs can be equipped with a mining-dedicated gimbal payload featuring a 1280x1024 UHD thermal camera and a 5 km laser rangefinder, enabling routine aerial inspections of mining areas to quickly identify and locate abnormal high-temperature zones and potential hidden fire sources.

By combining visible-light and thermal imaging data, mine managers can conduct fire alert, key area verification, and on-site response more efficiently, providing more timely data support for safety management.

Engineering Optimization for Extreme Environments

Mining operations are often exposed to complex working conditions such as high dust levels, high temperatures, extreme cold, and high altitudes. To address these typical scenarios, YANGDA provides targeted engineering optimization for our UAV systems, as listed below, to enhance platform stability and reliability in harsh environments.

1
High-dust environments
With IP54-rated motors and airframe, and IP66-rated cameras, YANGDA UAVs can operate continuously for 2 hours in environments with PM10 concentrations exceeding 1000 μg/m³ without performance degradation.
2
High altitude (>4000 m)
Equipped with 20% increased motor power reserve and battery preheating function, YANGDA systems enable stable flight even at 4500 m altitude.
3
High-temperature environments (>40°C)
Upgraded with motor heat dissipation fins and airflow channel design, as well as high-temperature-resistant battery cells, YANGDA systems maintain motor temperatures below 75°C after 2-hour continuous flight.
4
Low-temperature environments (< - 20°C)
Equipped with battery heating system (preheated to 10°C) and low-temperature motor lubricants, YANGDA systems enable normal takeoff at -25°C conditions.

Beyond-Visual-Line-of-Sight Communication Support

YANGDA provides optional point-to-point long-range video and data links, 4G/LTE and satellite communication modules that overcome terrain and distance limitations. All transmitted data is encrypted using AES-256 hardware encryption, meeting the high data security requirements of mining enterprises.

Data Management Platform

YANGDA not only provides flight platforms and mission payloads, but also delivers integrated data management capabilities. The system enables unified archiving of flight logs, imagery data, 3D models, and analytical results, supporting retrieval and management by time, area, mission type, and hazard category.

Through historical data comparison, mine managers can visualize slope evolution trends, pit development processes, and inspection task records, forming a more structured digital archive of mining data and providing long-term support for continuous monitoring, risk alerts, and decision-making.
